2021 National Conference: Beyond Trauma Informed – Strategies to create healing environments - via Zoom

Description:

We are delighted to host Bryan Post, author of the ‘Great Behaviour Breakdown’, for our 2021 National Conference: “Beyond Trauma Informed – Strategies to Create Healing Environments”. The conference will be held via Zoom on the following dates:

Friday 5 March 2021, 10.30–2.00pm: Denise Golding and Zach Gomm  -
The “Great Behaviour Breakdown” (GBB) Parenting Model in the UK

Friday 12 March 2021, 10.30–2.00pm: Bryan Post - Beyond Trauma Informed:
Core Trauma Responsive strategies of the GBB

The term ‘trauma informed’ is compelling in today’s environments that serve children, but is it enough?

In his presentation, Bryan goes beyond trauma informed and shares how we must become ‘trauma responsive’ as well as trauma informed. A trauma responsive environment - the core of Bryan’s pioneering approach to parenting traumatised children published in the ‘Great Behaviour Breakdown’ - looks and feels different, and that makes all of the difference! After this presentation, you will think afresh about how to actively respond to your child, or the families you are supporting as a professional.

Denise and Zach will introduce their work on the Great Behaviour Breakdown (GBB) parenting model in the UK and Ireland, as well as their exciting new “Training the Trainers” GBB programme. They will present a ‘love-based’, tried and tested toolbox of techniques for relationship-based parenting that works with children presenting a range of challenging behaviours – too good to be true? Denise and Zach will consider the application of these tools when parenting children affected by Trauma, Attachment Disruption, ASD, ADHD and other mental health difficulties.
