Adoption: Living Life to the Full

Description:

Lottery conferenceThere are more and more adoptive families now having the opportunity to live life to the full.  This exciting one and a half day conference, enabled by a collaboration between PAC-UK and the Big Lottery Grant, will explore the latest thinking into adoption support and how it is changing lives.  On day one, leading experts will be presenting the most recent research and developments.  On day two, delegates will hear about the practical support now available to families.  There will be an opportunity to hear from families who are living life to the full - and find out what helped and how they did it!  All delegates, both parents and professionals, will gain an insight into the work now being done to support adoptive families and take away renewed hope, ideas and practical tips.

Chaired  by Peter Sandiford, CEO of PAC-UK and Professor Gordon Harold from the Andrew and Virginia Rudd Centre for Adoption Research and Practice, this one and a half day conference will celebrate adoption support services and the progress that has been made with the generous five-year grant received by PAC -UK from The Big Lottery.

Day 1 will be used to bring delegates  up to date with research and developments that allow children and families of adoption to live life to the full.

There will be a conference dinner following Day 1 at a local restaurant (yet to be confirmed).

Day 2 will be a very practical overview of adoption support by professionals, parents and adopted children who have benefitted from this support.
