Learning from disruptions - London

Description:

Each child placement is made with such hope, yet disruptions do happen. This workshop delivered by Joan Hunt, experienced social worker, trainer, parent and foster carer, will help clarify what the most recent research tells us about disruptions and how to minimise the impact. Delegates will learn how to improve assessments, matching and transitions to permanency as well as gaining insight into the part they can play in the prevention and management of disruptions. This is a MUST ATTEND workshop for all those working in permanency.

Each child placement is made with such hope, yet disruptions do happen. It is therefore wise that everyone involved is informed and prepared to prevent their occurrence. There is usually a process leading to disruption, regardless if it happens at an early stage of introductions or during the teenage years. For those who are involved in the planning processes of child placement it is crucial to know the context of disruptions and the part they play in their prevention and management.
