Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy Level One (DDP) - London

Description:

DDP 4 daysDyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) developed by Dan Hughes, is both a therapy and a framework for communicating with and helping families of children who have experienced early trauma. This 4 day Level One training presented by Dr Kim Golding, who was trained and mentored by Dan Hughes, is for professionals working with children and young people with trauma-attachment problems. Kim will explore the principles of DDP through discussion, hands on activities and experiential exercises. Attendees will gain the confidence to apply DDP principles to their work with children and families.

DDP was developed by Dan Hughes as an Attachment Focussed Family Therapy that is tailored to meet the needs of children who have experienced trauma and loss.
This four day training with Kim Golding introduces DDP and the broader framework of Dyadic Developmental Practice within which therapy is applied. This provides a model of parenting and support as well as a therapeutic approach to helping children. The core components will be presented and explored through discussion and experiential exercises. Level one training represents 28 hours of DDP training and will provide the knowledge and practice necessary for attendees to apply DDP principles to their work with developmentally traumatised children and families. The level one training is the starting point for certification as a DDP therapist or practitioner.

Recommended reading before the start of the DDP training is:
